It's been a brilliant weekend. I took the day off on Friday at short notice to complete my FINAL EVER Open Uni assignment after getting the deadline date wrong. Happy to say that not only did I manage to complete the whole bloody thing in one day, but my tutor turned it around over the weekend, got it back last night, and I got a cracking 80%, giving me 77.8% overall for my courswork. Merit here I come!
While I was working hard, my silly girlfriend managed to spill a large mug of boiling water all down her shoulder and arm... the poor thing... it sounded quite nasty, so when I awoke on Saturday I decided to head to Ragdoll's 30th birthday in Milton Keynes by going via Manchester.
Oh bloody hell I hate traffic. It took over 5 hours to get to Manchester from Reading - unbelievable! I got there /just in time/ to see the Spurs scores on teletext, as we lost 3-1 to Liz's team Southampton. DOH! That sucked ass. It was ace to meet her flatmates too, and I think Dave enjoyed himself - he had no choice, I dragged him up with me :)
We finally got to Milton Keynes at 8pm, about 4 hrs later than I'd estimated in the morning, and that was pretty crap, but we still had a nice evening and got home safely around 1am. Despite being knackered, I managed to have a sneaky hour of Panzer Dragoon Orta, superb game, which I acquired from MK on loan ;)
Sunday brought a triumph of patience over just-paying-someone-to-do-it when I fixed this problem, which has been outstanding for a year and a half - mostly thanks to Refresher's advice and then Do It All's help, but also thanks to some intelligent assistance from Flossy boy. I then gave the whole house a good sorting out, tidying up the kitchen and rearranging it to fit in the lodger's cool stuff, hoovering all around and generally making it all feel "nice".
I would say that's no more DIY to do and bounce merrily, but on Sunday morning my en suite leaked through the ceiling as it did on Xmas day two years ago /sigh/. Well, I was looking for an excuse to redo that room so now I have it I guess...
